Addiction can also be prescription drugs, smoking, food, relationships, co-dependency, internet, pornography, shopping, and even chaos. When you find yourself repeating the same actions or behaviours over and over again despite negative consequences, you may be experiencing addiction without even realizing it.
Recovery is about adjusting your way of living to allow you to experience life on life’s terms. In other words, learning to accept things that you cannot change and being able to determine the things you can change and adopting them into a new way of being…. Or doing things differently…without the behaviours that cause chaos. In essence, you become comfortable with being the real you and cope better with your emotions.
