Self Care
The process of transformation can be work. Be gentle with yourself. Change is difficult but not impossible. During this healing time when your nervous system is processing old patterns and beliefs, it is important to pay extra attention to nurturing yourself. Some examples are:
| Reduce or eliminate caffeine intake |
Reduce or eliminate sugar intake |
| Reduce or eliminate alcohol intake |
Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day |
| Eat lots of juicy fruits and vegetables |
Exercise daily |
| Get as much rest as you can |
Explore meditation |
| Learn to say no to things you don't have energy to do |
Allow yourself time for reflection |
| Journal your thoughts and emotions or share with a friend |
Don't isolate yourself, share your pain, discomfort or joy with a compassionate person or your counsellor |
| Believe in yourself and your ability to heal yourself |
Nurture yourself, use art, poetry, music, massage, or anything that makes you feel good |
